Our story
Mother and son,one kitchen.
Umai is a family business run by a mother and her son. We started by catering for government departments, then opened a restaurant in Putrajaya, and now also operate at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Our vision is to be Putrajaya’s preferred heritage restaurant brand, known for quality village-style cooking and excellent corporate catering. Every dish we serve is clean and halal.

History
One stepat a time.
2004
Started our food and beverage business as a mother-and-son partnership, Datin Jamaliah Jaafar and Tuan Hj Amir Redza.
2011
Began running Umai Cafe Restaurant at Bangunan Anjung Alaf Baru, Putrajaya, between Masjid Sultan Mizan and the Millennium Monument.
2016
Received the Kedai Harga Patut award from KPDNHEP.
2020
Became Umai Cafe (M) Sdn. Bhd., a fully Bumiputera-owned private limited company.
2021
Received BeSS certification from the Ministry of Health.
Today
Operating at the Putrajaya Water Sports Complex, the Serumpun UPM food court (12 stalls) and KTAG UPM, alongside our catering service.
